Back Porch/Deck

NOTE: The back deck planks are a bit uneven, and the steps down to the yard don’t have a proper landing. There is also a buncha chipped paint along the railing. During Winter 2019, the snow will make it practically defunct for a while. BUT! I am going to do some minor repairs in the Spring to hold it over and refinish it with a deep Mahogany stain. I was considering doing a massive spiral of two-toned stain. I might get carried away.

Once my budget is assembled, the back deck is going to be redone with Timbertech, a California room/green house, bar area, a step-up to view the slopes, and an arbor. By then I’ll also have a telescope for the stars. (Don’t ask me about the timeline. I’m still getting situated with the new home ownership phase).

I also added little solar-powered fairy-light embellishments and a solar-powered table-top tree silhouette thingie to jazz up the setting.

The waterscaping is also going to get redone in the spring. I’m really excited about that.

BUT–the back yard is going to be dedicated to landscaping/waterscaping. Thus, it will not be a functional place for kids to traipse around and play, given the uneven ground and multiple trip hazards. If they do get injured, I have a First Aid kit in the right cabinet above the microwave. I also have ice packs in the freezer for sprains.
