Last-Minute Prep

I scrubbed some atrocious grease speckling from the cabinets for two hours. There were fingerprints of smudgey germs everywhere! VIE! Pfft, I reduction cook. My food leaves curry stains–generally. My cooking splatter leaves everything looking neon green. Grease stains are tedious, but curry stains are impossible. I can’t be mad–except the degreaser did not work.

I wanted to do something fancy with the kitchen cabinets, but I’m out of time. Triage is a b!tch. I’m also way over budget–which is kinda silly since I didn’t do any major interior remodeling. On the bright side, I have an idea of what I want to do in the Foyer and Master Bedroom as well as the rear bedroom. I just need to sketch it out, add dimensions, and watch a gratuitous amount of YouTube Videos.

So right now the kitchen cabinet replacement parts are drying. I need some shellac-stuff for them…maybe. I might just redo them later. We’ll see. I also have to go grout the Shared Bathroom. Cleaned another vent.

Ok–admittedly I want to make this place allergy/asthma-friendly, but CARPET! Once I accrue some funds, I’ll replace the flooring with something that isn’t a massive dust sponge. That undertaking will have to be looped into other renovations—so, the implementation shall not be swift. My apologies. Yours Truly ain’t a Trust Fund baby. I also don’t acquire finances from stocks and investments. Every penny is the result of blood, sweat, sleep deprivation, integrity, and antibiotics. This property is actually my first investment. *cue angelic choir*

This undertaking involved a lot of “firsts.” I never owned a TV before. Now I have 3–including a CRT. I can’t get an Atari yet, so that thing is a dud for now. I also had the chance to make an adult bed for the first time. That was harder than expected. (Admittedly, I usually sleep on cushions on the floor, Spartan style.) Boyfriends were always amazed at my backpacking skills–and I can set up a tent and such…

I really hope this place is cool and enjoyable. I know I need to do more, but I’m human–with time limits, and a formidable vision.
